Jennifer informed me that she connected with Krystal Rene, the photographer who captured me in my flower crown, and asked permission to use the work as the template for her piece. She then walked me around the exhibition, showing me more works of phenomenal women that she is inspired by: Valerie Gillepsie, co-owner of Pencil on Paper Gallery; Daisha Board, owner of The Daisha Board Gallery; and her daughter, Indigo, survivor. “Patchwork,” Jennifer’s first solo exhibition, was an overwhelming success.
